About Blues Capital Foundation Mission

Mission

The mission of the Blues Capital Foundation is to preserve, celebrate, and advance the legacy of Chicago Blues through education, performance, and community engagement. We cultivate young minds through the power of music—pouring hope, striking chords, and lifting lives

Our Approach

At the Blues Capital Foundation, we are dedicated to preserving history while shaping the future. We harness the power of music to educate, inspire, and create opportunities for youth and communities through hands-on learning, mentorship, and cultural engagement.  We believe that the blues is more than just music; it is a legacy, a voice, and a cornerstone of American culture. Our programs combine history, performance, and practical skill-building to ensure participants not only learn about the blues but also understand its meaning and impact.  Our work centers on three core areas: education, enrichment, and access. We bring music education directly into schools, libraries, and community spaces. We offer camps, workshops, and after-school programs designed to build confidence, creativity, and discipline. We collaborate with artists, cultural leaders, and community organizations to provide authentic learning experiences and real-world opportunities.

Drummers of tomorrow

The After School Music Lab.  Our After School Music Lab is an amazing program where children will explore the science and art of music in a supportive environment. This will also teach participants to play instruments such as the guitar, drums, and piano, while getting into the science of sound and vibration.Through activities like building instruments and learning about music production, students will gain hands-on experience that creates deep critical thinking and skills. By teaching music history, we empower children to connect with the past understand the present and create a more harmonious future Our program teach children about the roots of all American music.    Copyright © 2025 Blues Capital Foundation - All Rights Reserved. www.bluescapitalfoundation.org
